When should I start getting Anti Wrinkle injections?

If you want to prevent the earliest fine lines from becoming full-blown wrinkles, preventative Botox can be the solution. Botox is approved for patients who are 18 years and older and most experts agree that patients in their mid to late 20s and early 30s are at a good age for preventative Botox treatment.

Can I have Anti Wrinkle injections of I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Anti Wrinkle injections aren’t recommended for pregnant women. Botox is classified as a Category C drug; this means that animal reproduction studies have demonstrated an adverse effect of Botox on the fetus, but no formal studies have been performed on pregnant women to determine the risks

How often can I have treatments?

Some people will need to come back in for a top up after two weeks if the desired relaxation of the muscle hasn’t been reached.

It is recommended that you come back in every 3-4 months. During the first year you may need to have the treatment done approximately 3 times.

What aftercare should I follow?

It is advised not to fall asleep on your front to allow the anti-wrinkle injections to settle. Anti-wrinkle injections usually takes around 7-10 days for effects to show, and 2 weeks to fully come into fruition. Avoid strenuous exercise and applying makeup in the 4-5 hours following treatment. In the 48 hours following treatment, avoid heat related environments such as sauna, steam rooms and jacuzzis. Try not to smoke and consume alcohol for 24 hours after the treatment.

How long does it take to work / do the effects last for?

It can take up to 2 weeks to see the full effect and some people with stronger facial muscles may need to come back for a top up at this time. After that you won’t need to return for 3-4 months.

Is there any downtime?

The downtime is very minimal, you could even pop in on your lunch break. But its very important to remember the aftercare steps to assure you get the best results from your treatment. Stay elevated, hydrated and don’t drink alcohol for 48 hours!

Do Anti Wrinkle injections hurt?

The pain is very minimal but we do offer EMLA numbing cream in house if you should want it!
